Mini Purple Dragonfly Necklace

The tiniest purple dragonfly necklace! I started this design by hand shaping a metal dragonfly. Next I combined a gorgeous paper dragonfly specimen, two coats of jewelry grade resin, and a whole lot of love! The petite little dragonfly hangs about one inch from the necklace chain, and is about 3/4 inch wide.

Due to the creation process the Dragonfly may contain tiny air bubbles or variations. It’s just a part of its beautiful uniqueness!

The Dragonfly is a powerful totem. Each civilization throughout history has had its own unique interpretation of the dragonfly symbol, but all viewed it as a powerful and significant emblem. In ancient Egyptian culture, the dragonfly symbolized renewal, transformation and the ability to move freely between different realms of existence because of its unique life cycle. The dragonfly starts as a larvae in the water and transforms into a mature, flying insect. This transformation from one form to another was seen as a symbol of the journey from life to death and back to life again. The dragonfly's ability to fly and move freely in both water and air also symbolized its versatility and ability to move freely between the different realms of existence, such as the physical world and the spiritual world. As a result, the dragonfly became associated with the idea of rebirth and renewal in Egyptian mythology.
